I would go with Bram Stoker's Dracula. So beautiful, so haunting, so romantic.

we actually HAVE been back a couple of times and stayed in the same room. Nothing happened.
The staff is all new in the last couple of years since the previous owner passed away. Right after her death, I couldn't shake the feeling that she was still in the house but a few months later, after her children assumed management, I didn't feel her there anymore. Could have just been my crazy imagination.

hi, Jon. I've been to DisneyWORLD a number of times (20+ I guess) but am planning my first trip to Disneyland this fall. I wanna do a California road trip starting in Anaheim and ending up in San Fran. Have you ever been to Rogers Gardens at Halloween time? It looks awesome and is the primary reason we're doing a fall trip to Disney. Hi W3. Roger's Gardens is a large Nursery in the Newport beach area (they have a large gazebo that was built for Disneyland, but was removed because Walt didn't like it). At Halloween they sell 6-7 different types of Pumpkins and decorate one of their large display areas with various themed rooms. I have picked up a lot of good ideas for decorating from these displays. Another event I would suggest is "Rise of the Jack-o-lantern" at Descanso Gardens in the Pasadena/La CaƱada Flintridge area. www.therise.org/ www.descansogardens.org/ We went for the first time last year and it was amazing. The gift shop has all kinds of cool Halloween stuff and the carving and pumpkin displays are amazing. If you are just going as adults or bringing older kids I would also suggest Knott's Halloween Haunt. (https://www.facebook.com/KnottsScaryFarm/) This is the only time I go to Knott's Berry Farm. It is like stepping into a Horror Movie. The mazes are very well done (usually 10 or 12) and the earlier you go in the season, the shorter the lines are. Another suggestion on your way to San Francisco is the "Winchester Mystery House" is San Jose. www.winchestermysteryhouse.com/ I have been on this tour twice and would go again in a heartbeat. Hope this helps with your trip Thanks for the tips, Jon! This 'Halloween Haunt'...do they have like chainsaw killers running amok in there? I won't go to Universal's Horror Nights because of that...I don't do gory/slasher killer stuff. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is my speed. LOL

well, i think science tries to explain everything...but there are just SOME things that defy explanation. Like how my sensitive friend knew my dad's middle name (that he HATED and refused to let anybody know). And how she knew the the doctors thought the mass in my son's foot was cancer but it wasn't even though i had told her nothing about it. It's just weird.

i don't often experience deja vu but once experience when i was about 10 years old sticks with me. We had studied Japan in our class at school and our teacher always had a 'cultural party' at the end of a chapter on a new country. One girl wore a lovely kimono and i complimented her and told her that I had seen her wear it before...she told me that wasn't possible as her mother had only bought it the night before.
I vividly remember a dream where I was following someone with very long, pointed fingernails and a long fu-manchu type beard over an old drawbridge into some sort of structure. THat someone--i think it was a priest or a high-official of some sort was wearing that same kimono. I had the dream before I saw the classmate in the kimono.
It was really weird but it makes me wonder about reincarnation. And why i remember that...after all these years..but I can't remember to pick up the drycleaning.

my name is Suzy and i currently live in the Greater Boston area (not that i think there's anything great about it). I am originally from Indiana, too...South Bend...and when i was a baby, we lived in a house documented by NDU as having poltergeist activity. i'm pretty sure this is the house--altho my dad has died since he told me about it and I can't verify it. news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1955&dat=19661011&id=l8ctAAAAIBAJ&sjid=epoFAAAAIBAJ&pg=5692,5788564&hl=en my dad did tell me that rocks used to fly up and hit the side of the house all the time. I 'remember'my mother telling me not to touch a hot iron she had just used and I remember watching said iron just slide across the kitchen counter and fall onto the floor. My dad says i couldn't possible remember that but i do.

Thanks for the welcome! My stepson decided he wanted to be French so he DOES pronounce it 'DooMay'. LOL...altho maybe he's gone to the original Germanic 'Doo-muh' since he has a German gf now. When I married my husband, he said 'you don't have to take my name' (but being raised mostly in the South, it wasn't even a question on my part). I then told him 'don't you think I want to walk up to people and say 'hello, my name is Suzy.........Do Me'

My husband and I love Newport, RI. In fact, that's where we met. There is a lovely b & b there...the Adele Turner Inn. We have been going to the Adele for a few years and had never had any sort of experience until one morning when I thought my husband had had a stroke! We were in bed and all of a sudden he just looked at me and said 'i don't know where we are'. I proceeded to ask him some questions and he was fuzzy on why we were in Newport and what we had planned to do that day. He really freaked me out. He didn't seem to have had any stroke or seizure or any other physical event that would explain it. So I had some coffee sent up and he slowly came to himself and while he agreed that it was weird, he didn't feel he needed medical attention. (He's a doctor himself so I almost believe it when he says that!) We left and the further we got away from inn, the more himself he became so we just shrugged it off in the end and went on our way.
He never experienced anything related to that before or after. It was a true aberration.
We went back to the Adele Turner about a month later and stayed in the same room (which is the room we almost always stay in). We had a great time in the hot tub on the private third floor open deck--great views of Newport day and night! The next morning we were in bed (again) and my husband...who is defintely NOT a practical joker...says to me 'I think by the looks of the buildings outside, we are in Newport but I'm not sure'. Again, he did not know why we were in Newport, he was fuzzy when he tried to name our children and grandchildren (altho he ALWAYS knows he's a doctor and all that doctory stuff he should know). I am again totally freaked out but a thought occurred to me. I texted my sensitive friend--and i am ALWAYS very careful not to ever suggest anything paranormal to her...ever--and told her that dh has had another one of those disoriented spells (she is also a nurse). She immediately tells me that a young woman named 'Addie' thinks it is funny to make men a little loopy. That she is 'flirting' and that I should tell her to please stop. So...feeling a little sheepish...while he was in the shower, I asked her outloud to not cloud my husband's mind again. Yeah, i felt a little goofy doing it but after his shower, he started becoming oriented and himself again.
We have been back to the Adele a few times since then and we've had no more 'Addie' experiences.

yes, my last name is pronounced ' Do Me'...you can take it from there. I currently live in the greater Boston area with my husband and..um..NOBODY else ...for the time being. Half of our kids have boomeranged back but we managed to pry them out of the house. When I was really little..baby little..we lived in a house with documented poltergeist activity near South Bend, IN. I've had a few strange experiences but never actually SEEN anything. I love the podcast and can't wait to hear more and more and more!
