Ghostland: An American History in Haunted Places by Colin Dickey Is sold at Barnes and Noble online and via nook... Alright, this will be our first book. I'll announce it on the next podcast and start a thread. Do Book Clubs usually give a month to read a selection? So maybe we'll set this for May and discuss at beginning of June?

Hey Jessica, thanks for joining us! We have a Utah location coming up here in May! You sound like my kind of people with history, true crime and paranormal, minus the gory stuff. I have a weak stomach - lol!

Welcome Yoyo and thanks for your review over at iTunes! It will be heard on the next podcast. We would love to meet-up when you come down if we are in town. We're doing our Carolina road trip in September. Remind us when we get closer to the time. As for research, it depends on the place how easy the research can be. People who are members of the Research Crew have made a more long term commitment. Generally, we start people with researching a location near them that they would like to know more about and see if you even like doing research. It can be frustrating and confusing and sometimes there just isn't much out there. You don't have to be eloquent - I edit everything and make sure it comes across in "our voice" and add my own research and expand if need be to make sure a location fits at least a 25 minute block of time. So let us know if you are interested and if you have a location in mind.

We haven't seen it yet, but I was listening to the Disney podcast, The Queue, and they loved it and said it was Disney's longest animated feature. They said they laughed out loud many times.

I get it All. The. Time! Sometimes it's a little itch in the back of my head where I think to myself, haven't I seen this before or been here before? I wonder if my memory is slipping on those occassions. But sometimes it is a full on, I have been here, I have done this before...when?! I've heard Bob's scientific explanation before as well as Suzy's past lives explanation. I'm not sure what it is, but when it's intense, it freaks me out a bit. Almost makes you wonder if your soul had an out of body experience.

Sunday, April 17th, we will be doing a haunted walking tour of Capitol Hill with Kevin Pharris who has written a couple of the Haunted America publications on Denver. He also happens to be a personal friend of my mom and she left him a ton of her research when she moved down here to Florida. So this is THE guy to do this with. Kevin runs Denver History Tours. This is a private tour for just our group. The tour starts at 7pm and will last for appx. 2 hours. It costs $20 per person and we're not sure if he can do credit cards and such, so we're bringing cash. We will meet 15 minutes ahead of time on the West side of the Capitol bldg. at the one mile above sea level step. It's suppose to rain, so bring an umbrella and rain jacket! Please let us know that you are coming so we are looking for you: historygoesbump@gmail.com Click here for more details!

I was searching and Thinking Sideways Podcast did it a year or so ago, but I'm not sure why it got popular right now. You sent me the list a while back and I recognized it because I had heard it on Casefile back in February. It does seem odd that we would all get the idea seperately and even weirder is the fact that you sent me a LIST. Meaning that this was just randomly picked for basically the same time frame as Lore. So neither Lore nor us got the idea from each other. His was posted and ours was in post-production. Meaning Bob had the script to me, I had it edited and Denise had it recorded before Lore posted its episode. So is Bella calling out? I've suggested it would make a good serialized podcast topic. If I had time I would love to do it, but alas, I'm lucky to get HGB done - lol!

Hey there Jon! I know what you mean by pricing you out. It's getting crazy. Our saving grace is that Denise gets in for free (although there are more and more black out dates) and I have a Disney Chase Credit Card where I rack up points to pay for my annual pass. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome Konda and thanks for joining us here! It's nice to get to know the non-Facebook people. Would love to see something other than just the airport in Frankfurt someday in regards to Germany.

It would be easy to chalk this up to a medical thing if it were not for that second visit. Then having your sensitive friend say that this spirit likes to disorient men adds that much more to it. What gets me...how would a spirit do that? It's one thing to close doors or poke someone, but make their mind fuzzy?! What exactly was this interaction? Kinda freaky.

Well, even though I've been instructed not to tempt the spirits *whispering out of earshot - I have been known to use my little hand held Zoom H1 recorder to ask a question or two and that is actually what we captured our possible EVP at the St. Augustine Lighthouse on.* I would not use things like a Hack Shack or Spirit Box or something like that because they leave so much open to debunking.

Rock and soul chorus - I like that! And, of course, I've been saying your name wrong too. I try to put more finesse in names than required, meaning that I make them sound foreign. Mary ess ah I think is what I've been saying. Mmmphf! Oh well. I try. Thanks for coming here to hang out!

Glad to have you Suzy! Every time I think I really don't care for my last name, someone comes along to make me feel better. I think I had said your name like Doo May...thinking that it couldn't be DO ME! - lol! Sounds like early life was exciting for you! And now I've been reminded that I need to email you back. I read your suggestion and wanted to give a more thoughtful response than what could be conjured while waiting in line for a ride.

I was listening to a recent Darkness Radio episode and an author named Brandon Callahan was on and he was talking about some Shadow Figures he had seen. He said something along the lines of that there has to be a color beyond black because these shadows were more than just black. I've been there on the podcast when describing these shadow things - hard to find the words. I've never seen one, thank God, but my theory on them is that they are not a color. I think of them as absorbing all the light so no color exists. What can do that? Squash the light or absorb the light? Theories?

It's me, Diane Student! Co-host of the History Goes Bump Podcast. And also creator, researcher, writer, producer, editor and all around control freak of said podcast. I've been in internet broadcasting since 2009. The HGB Podcast is my first foray into podcasting. My previous show was a live, call-in show on Blog Talk Radio. I've been blogging since 2008 and I've been a writer ever since I could pick up a pencil and scribble. I published my first fiction book in 2015: The Lewis Chronicles Book 1: The Shattering. I've been interested in the paranormal and odd ever since I was a kid. Leonard Nimoy got me started with "In Search Of." My mother fostered my love for history as she was a Colorado Historian and she also got me interested in cemeteries. When I'm not creating podcasts, writing or traipsing through graveyards, I like to kayak, hike, birdwatch, garden and play. I was born in California, moved to Colorado when I was 6 and lived there for 30 years and then moved to Florida in 2007. And I love my HGB Community!
